In only 27 days Moo Duk Kwan® members will be hosting the largest national gathering of Soo Bahk Do® practitioners in the USA at the La Toretta Lake Resort and Spa in Montgomery, Texas.

I hope this message finds you and your family in the best of health and spirits as you are receiving a bright New Year.

The Foundation Board has developed and approved a fundraising and grant awarding process which provides a means for Studio Owners to raise restricted use funds through the Foundation.

Upon your enrollment and the Foundation’s approval of your application, then you can begin conducting fundraising activities for specific causes and purposes that are important to you and which are compliant with Foundation’s chartered purposes and guidelines.

Perry Araeipour, Sa Bom Nim captured an historical moment through the lens of his camera as James Donnelly Sa Bom Nim (Dan Bon 14436) from Hampton Roads, Virginia  in Region 3 of the United States Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan Federation® was awarded his Moo Duk Kwan®  8th Dan certificate by H.C. Hwang Kwan Jang Nim on November 21, 2014 in Ramona California at the 2014 Ko Dan Ja Shim Sa.

Prizes allocated by the United States Soo Bahk Do Moo Duk Kwan Federation Board for the 2014 Kick-a-thon campaign will expire 12/31/2014 if unclaimed.

Current unclaimed prizes include a trip to the 2015 National Festival or the Moo Duk Kwan® 70th Anniversary in Korea.

Sam Dans and above are eligible to attend the Technical Advisory Committee’s Moo Duk Kwan® Ko Dan Ja Shim Sa Preparation Seminar at the 2014 United States Soo Bahk Dop Moo Duk Kwan Federation® National Festival and Dan Leadership Convention.

Did you know that hosting a Moo Duk Kwan® Kick-a-thon fundraiser could also increase your studio enrollment by 25% (twenty five percent)? That’s what it did for DFW Soo Bahk Do®. 

Region 3 Dan Test 124th Classing

When Spokane Soo Bahk Do® instructor Bud Bolan launched their Kick-a-thon for the Moo Duk Kwan®, he even recruited the parents of students to participate in the exciting event. He backed up his request for parents to join in by personally sponsoring each parent for $20. Spokane Soo Bahk Do parents and students kicked up their heels for a good cause and had a blast!

Sa Bom Nim Anna Oulashin (Regional Examiner & Foundation Board Director) and Sa Bom Nim Chuck Smith (Region 10 Elected Federation Board Director) spearheded an energetic Kick-a-thon For The Moo Duk Kwan on November 6th, 2013 at Camas Soo Bahk Do®.

Region 10 members are currently in 1st place among all regions with their impressive results in the 2013 Kick-a-thons For The Moo Duk Kwan® fundraising campaign.

On November 25th 2013, Upper Valley Soo Bahk Do Karate School completed its 1st ever Kick-a-thon For The Moo Duk Kwan® fundrasing event ; however, additional sponsorship donations can still be submitted via a student’s online fundraiser page until 12/31/2013 in order to increase a student’s fundraising total and their eligibility for National Kick-a-thon prizes.

Thanks to the new bidding process being piloted by the Board of Directors, you have an opportunity to literally bring the National Festival to your backyard (or wherever you want it to go) by bidding for your preferred destination!

The Foundation asks for your help distributing the enclosed informational brochure detailing how interested supporters can contribute to the Foundation’s important campaigns focused on increasing public awareness of, and participation in, our art.

The Foundation also seeks to provide financial support to the Federation thus providing new participation opportunities for individuals who otherwise may not have an opportunity to experience Soo Bahk Do®.
